All ability levels and ages welcome! This is a great way to lend a hand to the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) in maintaining its trail network, including the A.T. — plus you’ll meet a lot of great folks. The best part is this trail work is close to home. We’re joining forces with the PATC Cadillac Crew is organizing this projects. Since this is their project, I’ll need RSVPs by 10/9/2019, as well as an email address + the type of work you can handle (easy, moderate, physically demanding). I’ll pass this information along to them. They will send out email updates and any special instructions (like what to bring).
The tasks will range from easy to physically demanding. Depending on how many people RSVP, the Cadillac Crew will expand the number of projects tackled that day.
Work is happening on both Saturday and Sunday. Please sign up for each day separately — so we have a headcount for each day.
Hope to see you there!

“Join the Cadillac Crew as we continue a major relocation of the AT at Loudoun Heights. We will be building new tread and making gravel. Bring work gloves, lunch and plenty of water. Tools will be provided. We will be staying at the Blackburn Trail Center. Newcomers, families, and well behaved dogs are welcome to join us for one or both days. We will have potluck meals for Saturday evening and Sunday breakfast.”

The United States Croquet Association is hosting a two-day clinic in Round Hill at Woodgrove Park. This leads up to a tournament June 7-9. The clinic will go from 10am until 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday with a 1 hour break for lunch and with courts open for casual play after the clinics and until dark. Cost is $20. If you pay for the clinic, that $20 will be used as a credit if you also sign up for the tournament.

Everyone welcome — families, friends, kids. This walk takes you on a paved path through the old golf course along the Shenandoah River, then off-road on a flat footpath that winds through a grove of paw-paw trees, across a stream over stepping stones, and then a few more steps until we reach a beautiful waterfall. If you feel like exploring more upstream, the reward is a series of cascading waterfalls.

Round Hill Outdoors is excited to announce the first ever Round Hill Appalachian Trial Festival, set for June 15, 2019 at B Chord Brewing!
You can both celebrate the natural beauty of the A.T. and learn about protecting it. We’ll have partner organizations (Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, Friends of the Blue Ridge, Virginia Master Naturalists) with displays and talks about hiking, trail conservancy and more. Enjoy live music, too—plus equipment demos, kids activities, food and, of course, beer.
Following 2,100 miles of mountain ridge lines, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail (A.T.) crosses 14 states, from Maine to Georgia. It’s the longest and oldest marked footpath in the country. And we’re lucky enough to have the A.T. right in our backyard.
In the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the town of Round Hill sits between two beloved A.T. centers, Bears Den to the south and Blackburn to the north. So, when town leaders learned about the Appalachian Trail Community program, it seemed a natural fit. After more than a year of work and planning, this festival acknowledges Round Hill’s official designation as an A.T. Community, recognizing the Trail as a community assist and pledging to support ongoing Trail stewardship.
